PHIL HARMONY

Biografie (english below)

Konzerte in diversen Locations folgten.

Was daraufhin bisher geschah findet man alles im Evoarchiv.

BIOGRAPHY (german above)

Born in 1980 in the east of Berlin, musically influenced in early childhood with music of the Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Krautrock and by the 80s itself, a broad spectrum of musical understanding was laid out. In 1987, Phil Harmony’s personal musical career began when, at the age of 7, he tried to learn the violin at the music academy in Weimar. In 1988, as a recognised refugee with a licence to leave the GDR via various refugee homes in Baden Würtemberg, he grew up in exile and soon learned the piano at the music school in the Hölderlin town of Nürtingen. In 1992 he discovered the drums as his new passion and learned this autodidactically. In 1995, he founded his first band together with a couple of buddies, followed by two more. Concerts in various locations followed. Until then, it was rather the hard guitar sounds, from Black & Death Metal to Punk to Hardcore, everything was there. In 1997, electronic music became more interesting for him again and opened up a whole new world thanks to the newly discovered Evosonic Radio. The desire for influences from the same in the band resulted in the break-up and so began the career as a DJ. In 1998, the first steps were taken as a bedroom DJ with two CD players. Countless nights in search of the secret of DJing followed. In 2001, the first turntables, effects units and a larger mixing console gave room for more creativity. First attempts at hardware with an Electribe EM1 and an Air FX as a producer followed a little later. That’s how he discovered DUB and downbeats and got the nickname „Phil Harmony“ from a colleague during one of his DJ sessions to the sounds of Kruder & Dorfmeister, Leftfield, Rockers HiFi, Alex Reece & Thievery Corporation, etc. In 2004, he founded the reggae sound crew „Waan Heart Movement“ in Nürtingen together with Selectaaa Kruschall and played with him throughout Germany at various festivals and online at BigVibez Radio. As „Singjay Phil Harmony“ he began to write his own songs and performed as MC and singer at joint shows, as well as a booked solo artist, as special guest for „Yah Meek“ together with „House of Riddim“ and many more. Two self-produced albums and various singles followed. In 2005 he founded the Dubnight radio show which started at the online radio Bigvibez from Tyrol. In 2008, back to his roots in Berlin and after the „end“ of Bigvibez Radio, he got a bi-weekly slot on UKW 92,2 in Leipzig, where the Dubnight radio show is still running successfully under new direction together with Plug DUB Soundsystem and the Planet Earth Studio in the former premises of DT64 Radio in Berlin Treptow. Various gigs in Berlin clubs like Yaam, Cassiopeia, Calabash, Lauschangriff or Chemiefabrik in Dresden, between album productions and remixes followed. The love for electronic music away from DUB and downbeats never stopped and soon reached its peak so far. In 2018, the dream of getting a slot at Evosonic Radio, which had once again risen like Phoenix from the ashes in 2017, came true.

The Deepnight station was born. Everything that has happened so far can be found in the Evoarchiv. Phil Harmony sees his DJ sets as a journey with a common thread. Music to float and fly away, from soft to hard, everything is possible, but it must not be disharmonious. His sets are often described as suitable for trips, whatever that may mean. The goal is to reach a trance-like state.

Biografie (english below)

BIOGRAPHY (german above)

Peter F. Spiess is no new comer, especially to those akin to a type of ultra minimized dance music explored between the late 90’s and the early 00’s. Peter’s one of those artists blessed with an unparalleled ability to abstract and simplify dance music down to its purest elements: sonic bare-bones, both rich and impactful.

Peter F. Spiess is classically trained since the age of 6. His first attempts on electronic music programming blossomed in 1987 on the Commodoer-64 with it’s furious SID Chip. This time left a strong appreciation of analogue Sound Synthesis which lasts up to today. He bought his first Synthesizer in 1991 doing all the sequencing on an Atari STe. Years of experimental and amateur music- making passed which lead into the developement of an own musicial idea, strongly influenced by minimal style electronic music.

His releases date back to the mid 90s, on imprints packed with a unique guild of producers of strong sound signatures, all close or even under the Ongaku umbrella: Frankfurt’s legendary label for electronic music with class, home of both Playhouse and Klang Elektronik, the latter being one of Peter’s main output channels, along with Alpha, Contexterrior or Adjunct.

Due to the unique combination of minimal techno, house, jazz, noise and splashes of electro, his early releases are still integral part of many dj’s record bags. Crystal Polymorphs, the artist’s only album over the last 20 years, is a bold collection of memorable electronic music cuts that achieved a low-key cult-status between diggers and djs alike from all around the globe.

His live sets are wild and groovy journeys through a world full of unexpected sounds that never seize to move the dancing crowd. They consists or rearranged tracks of his back catalogue being remixed and edited live in ever evolving ways. In between strange dream capes of atmospheric sound, various kinds of sonic mayhem is carefully laid out as the rhythmic foundation to your dancing pleasure. Expect to hear his music always in new and crazy ways.

PONCHMANN

Biografie (english below)

Evosonic Radio entstand in seinem näheren Umfeld.

BIOGRAPHY (german above)

Its mother ship crashed to earth not far from the European continent in the last quarter of the 20th century. The P.A.P. (Planetary Adoption Program) gave him the opportunity to live a normal life among earthlings. Enriched by space radiation, he has always succeeded in merging possibilities and people. Musical early imprinting by his assigned parents on Earth, consisted largely of „Radio Luxembourg“ and the record collection of his father: Jethro Tull, The Doors, The Beatles, Nina Hagen, Elvis and Co. to name a few. In addition, there was the autodidactic learning of „Silent Night, Holy Night“ on the Bontempi organ, which was given to him for his 6th year on earth. Thus all further measures for the seizure of the world music rule ran up to the today’s day naturally autodidactically in self-direction, at that time still without Internet.

At the tender age of 8 years already first „moderation attempts“ were accomplished on the basis of self-designed radio broadcasts. What should become for him 15 years later still of advantage. At the same time, shortly before his 9th year on earth, he made acquaintance with rap or hip-hop for the first time. Electric Boogie and Breakdance were added shortly after. Adapted to the time, about cassette tapes!

The first walking attempts in the matter of musical entertainment came with 15 earth years. The first paid DJ gig! Equipment: 1 Monarch 4 channel mixer, 2 Sony Hi-Fi CD players, Location: Elementary school Cologne Poll. Even then he knew no musical boundaries.

Legendary encounters with acid, house and techno followed in the 1990s. In 1997, what had already begun at the age of 8, came together. Evosonic Radio was born in his immediate environment. Ponchmann soon became part of one of the most interesting stories of the electronic subculture. He gained his first production experience at the end of the 1990s in the studio of the Cologne label „Treibstoff“. Together with Dominique Chevalier, the track „Porz am Rhein“ was created at that time.

From the year 2001 followed one of the most creative studio phases. In the home HeartbreakHotel Studio, which he has now set up in Porz, created together with Markus König, Sandro Palazzo and many others, songs in chord work. Irregular regular DJ appearances on all genres stages he threw, also thanks to his just mentioned enriched space radiation, besides. And that, except for some quiet phases, to this day.

In 2013 he started the internet radio „674fm“, which he significantly contributed to from the beginning. Currently he can be heard there with his show „Tagedieb-Studio Edition“. Under the pseudonym „Helge Nug“, he creates this radio show and events with makers, players, dancers and friends.

In 2017, the podcast „Disco Dynamite“ was added. Together with Markus König, he serves house music of the finest, of course in the mix.
