Back catalog is a term of the music industry and describes, similar to the term backlist in the book and publishing industry, the totality of those music titles of a record company that are still available. We decided to use the term backlist and put together a fine compilation from it, also to remind you how many good tracks we were allowed to release already. The now sixth edition was this time packed into a Continuous Mix of a special kind by Julia Loewenherz. On Evosonic Radio Julia is known for shows like Update and Loewentanz. With her way of presenting music she convinces the listeners since 2020. Her vision and idea, as well as the understanding for technology, she implements perfectly in this mix. I know who is now insanely proud of Julia Loewenherz.

Eine Compilation zusammengesetzt aus Freunden. Einzig und allein um zu danken und zu verbinden, nicht um sich zu bereichern. So steht es jedes Jahr geschrieben und daran ändere ich nichts, auch weil es wieder diesmal so ist.

A compilation made up of friends. Only and only to thank and connect, not to enrich themselves. This is what it is written every year and I don’t change anything about it, also because it is the same this time.

„Freundschaft“ und „Verwandtschaft“ bis ins 17. Jahrhundert synonym verwendet. Willkommen und großen Dank an:
BluFin Records, Yellow Tale, Jackfruit Recordings, noreira records, A-Site Records, Form & Terra, MixCult Records, Harthouse, Plastic City und Plastic City Suburbia, Emerald & Doreen und last but not least City of Drums. Auch heuer war es nicht einfach aus den 12 Titeln unterschiedlichster Genres einen Mix zu kreieren. Es war sogar so schwer, dass beim zweiten Versuch Space Mountain von Dompe seinen Platz im Continuous Mix von Martin Vitzthum, verloren hat. Sorry dafür, aber nur so ist gesichert, dass ich auch aktuell behaupten kann: Sensationeller Mix, lieber Martin.

The Greek philosopher Aristotle described friendship as „one soul in two bodies“ and in German the terms „Freundschaft“ and „Verwandtschaft“ were used synonymously until the 17th century. Welcome and many thanks to: BluFin Records, Yellow Tale, Jackfruit Recordings, noreira records, A-Site Records, Form & Terra, MixCult Records, Harthouse Mannheim, Plastic City and Plastic City Suburbia, Emerald & Doreen and last but not least City of Drums. Also this year it was not easy to create a mix from the 12 titles of different genres. In fact, it was so difficult that in the second attempt Space Mountain by Dompe lost its place in the Continuous Mix by Martin Vitzthum. Sorry for this, but this is the only way to make sure that I can maintain my current position: Sensational mix, dear Martin.

Vor 4 Jahren gründete Chris Maico Schmidt Evosonic Records. Heute wie Damals sorgt er dafür, dass sich auch das Label, wie das Mutterschiff Radio, keinen Konventionen unterwirft. Mike weiß, Barbaros denkt genauso.

4 years ago Chris Maico Schmidt founded Evosonic Records. Today, just like back then, he makes sure that the label, like the mothership Radio, does not submit to any conventions. Mike knows that Barbaros thinks the same.

Wegen Covid-19 hatte die Abteilung „Records“ bei Evosonic ein paar Monate Pause, auch weil die Abteilung „Radio“, gerade deshalb viel zu tun hatte. Jetzt stehen wieder neue Veröffentlichungen an. Außerdem geht die Abteilung Records ins fünfte (!) Jahr und feiert das, wie die Jahre zuvor, mit der Compilation aus eigenem Haus. Backlist Vol. 3 wurde von Barbaros zusammengestellt, gemixt und mit einem unveröffentlichten Track von himself komplementiert. „Fate“ heißt die Deep House Produktion und trägt eindeutig seine Handschrift. Remixe davon sind schon in der Mache und werden noch dieses Jahr erscheinen. Der Kölner Produzent und DJ ist bei Evosonic in beiden Abteilungen eine feste Größe. Mit der Radioshow „Differences“ geht Barbaros den Weg weiter, den er mit seinem Label „Noreira Records“ gestartet hat. Noch nicht so bekannten Künstlern eine Plattform bieten!

Because of Covid-19, the „Records“ department at Evosonic had a few months off, also because the „Radio“ department had a lot to do, precisely because of that. Now new releases are coming up again. Furthermore the Records department is going into its fifth (!) year and celebrates this, like the years before, with the compilation from its own house. Backlist Vol. 3 was compiled and mixed by Barbaros and completed with an unreleased track by himself. „Fate“ is the name of the deep house production and clearly bears his signature. Remixes of it are already in the making and will be released later this year. The Cologne-based producer and DJ is a permanent fixture at Evosonic in both departments. With the radio show „Differences“ Barbaros continues the way he started with his label „Noreira Records“. Offering a platform to not yet so well known artists!
